President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, attended a plenary meeting of the delegation of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) and the People's Armed Police Force (PAPF) at the Second Session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC), the country's top legislature, in Beijing on March 7. Xi stressed that strategic capabilities in emerging areas are an important part of national strategies and strategic capabilities, and are of great significance to building a great country and advancing national rejuvenation on all fronts through Chinese modernization.
