On March 15, 2023, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chinese President, attended the CPC in Dialogue with World Political Parties High-Level Meeting in Beijing and proposed the Global Civilizations Initiative, meant to promote humanity's common values including peace, development, equity, justice, democracy and freedom.
